The Lawrence Jackson Writers’ Award [retired]

The Lawrence Jackson Writers’ Award encouraged original, creative work across all genres of writing while honouring the memory of writer Lawrence Jackson. It was sponsored by his mother, Frances Jackson, his wife, Laura, and his children, Willow, Holly, and Ben, with additional support from family and friends through the Lawrence Jackson Trust Fund.

Administered by ArtsNL from 2000 to 2020, the award was presented annually to a recipient selected from applicants to the Professional Project Grants Program in the writing category. The $500 prize was awarded on the recommendation of a peer assessment committee.
