CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: 41st Annual Newfoundland & Labrador Arts Awards

ArtsNL is now accepting nominations for the 41st annual Newfoundland & Labrador Arts Awards. The awards celebrate artistic excellence and outstanding contributions to the province’s arts community.
Members of the public may submit up to one nomination in each of the following categories:

- Artist Achievement Award
- Artist of the Year Award
- Arts in Education Award
- Emerging Artist Award
- Hall of Honour Award
- Helen R.K. Peters Art & Community Builder Award
- Patron of the Arts Award
- Ross Leslie Award
Nominations must be completed online via the ArtsNL website at www.artsnl.ca/awards/nominations. The submitted nomination form is regarded as a letter of support. Nominators should clearly explain why the nominee is a strong candidate for the selected award category.
Nominators must obtain permission from the individual, group, or organization before submitting a nomination. Nominees are asked to advise prospective nominators if they have already been nominated in a selected category. Multiple nominations for the same individual, group, or organization do not increase the nominee’s chances of receiving an award. If more than one nomination is submitted for the same nominee in the same category, ArtsNL will proceed with the first complete nomination received.

Support materials are not submitted during the nomination process. ArtsNL will contact eligible nominees via email within two to three weeks after nominations close. Those awaiting notification are encouraged to add artsawards@artsnl.ca to their contacts and check their spam or junk folders during this period, as some email services may direct ArtsNL’s messages there. Nominees will be asked to provide support materials to inform the jury’s discussions and will receive access to a cloud folder where electronic materials, such as PDFs, JPGs, and video links, can be uploaded. A biography and recent headshot are also required and may be used in Arts Awards-related publicity.
Nominations close Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. NT.
