The Ross Leslie Award
The Ross Leslie Award honours the life and memory of actor and film production manager, Ross Leslie, who first came to Newfoundland and Labrador in 2010. The recipient of this $500 cash award will be an artist who demonstrates excellence and passion in their own practice and is inclusive, generous and supportive of the broader arts community.
The Ross Leslie Award is held in trust at the Community Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador and managed by ArtsNL. The award will rotate annually between film, theatre, and visual art and will be chosen by the peer assessment committee during the fall granting session of ArtsNL’s Professional Project Grants Program in those categories.
The award has been established by Ross’s wife, Cathy Ashley, and long-time friend, Danielle Irvine. The award will be given out in the fall, to coincide with Ross’s birthday in October.
