Hall of Honour Award
DEFINITION
The Hall of Honour Award recognizes a person, group, or organization that has made a distinguished lifetime contribution to the cultural life of Newfoundland and Labrador. The award comes with a cash prize of $2,500.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS
There is no residency requirement for the Hall of Honour Award, and the nominee does not have to be a native Newfoundlander or Labradorian.
NOMINATIONS
Members of the arts community and general public can nominate one person, group, or organization. Nominees will be considered only for the category in which they are nominated. Permission from the nominee is mandatory.
Nominations must be submitted via the online nomination form. The submitted nomination form is regarded as a letter of support. Self-nominations are no longer accepted.
ArtsNL will contact nominees to request support materials, which will inform the jury’s discussions. Electronically submitted support material (e.g., PDF; JPG; links to video) must be uploaded by the nominee. (Access to a cloud folder will be supplied to the nominee by ArtsNL.) Nominees must supply a bio and recent headshot to potentially be used in all Arts Awards-related publicity.
VOTING AND SELECTION
Appointees to the Hall of Honour are selected by a multidisciplinary jury. If there are no nominees, or if those nominated do not qualify under the specified criteria, no award will be presented that year.
Hall of Honour appointments may be made posthumously.
